Ok, so I'm over it - if you don't know what I'm talking about then never-mind, it doesn't matter anyways. Are you all having a lovely holiday season? Sometimes I am surprised that anybody could have a nice holiday when the season seems to make many people feel that they have a carte blanche to be raving ass-monkeys. I offer no apologies for not feeling overly "festive" during the holidays, I think a person should make their own choices about when to celebrate life and be thankful, etc.

Those of you who know me are already aware that I do not have the most conventional religious beliefs but I do think that if you are going to celebrate the birth of one who is supposed to be holy to your faith then you should celebrate it in a way fitting of that persons message and life, in other words, do not be a jack-hole to others try and make this a time to be a little bit considerate.

It is so easy to be miserable right now, many of us are out of work, people don't have homes and food - it seems like a no-brainer that this would be a good time to want to try and go out of your way to make sure that if you can't help people you are at least making an effort not to make things more uncomfortable than they already are, and yes, before you say it - I am a hypocrite, I am also guilty of not being the most considerate person but I do TRY and I think that is the operative word - it does not take much extra effort to try and not be a $%&@ (insert your favorite four letter word here). I'm not trying to be all "mister nice-guy" on you or anything, God knows I am not a Pollyanna, one of those in my life is enough! All I'm saying is come-on...

Greetings to you! As always, I am glad, yet puzzled, to see you here again...no matter, I am glad to have somebody to listen to my bullshit! As you may or may not know, here in Chicago the Tribune company has filed for bankruptcy protection. Personally I have no beef with the Tribune company (at least that I am aware of), however, I find myself wondering why more of the big media giants are not feeling the pinch and following the Tribunes lead and entering into the final throes of death. Does anyone out there actually still watch television, listen to the radio or read the paper anymore? I am not advocating isolationism necessarily but I can't imagine I am the only one that feels content is drivel at best. I do like to keep informed and I do read the news online and I occasionally enjoy the programming on NPR but as far as the bulk of mass media programming goes, I feel I learn more each morning simply by waking up and continuing to breath.

Recently Lam has been visiting the networks to try and sell a game-show where the occupants of well to do neighborhoods must line up their children in baby strollers in differing patterns down the length of a block of the main strip of traffic in their neighborhood and one parent at random is chosen to drive this gauntlet of toddlers and babies and can choose to try and avoid hitting the strollers in order to protect their own offspring from vengeful future gauntlet drivers, or ,they can choose to score as many strollers as possible to score points and win that days grand prize. The catch here of course being that they could risk the wrath or their neighbors only to be rewarded with some kind of Ron Popeil TV garbage or a lifetime supply of stem cells, one never knows.

I think Lams concept has merit but I'm not so sure he's going to find the buy-in he desires. It is a great way to thin the herd...

Well, well, well, all 0 of you are still around? This is certainly a surprise! Not only did I expect nobody to read this drivel, I REALLY did not expect anyone to actually come back for more. Oh, well, no accounting for taste!

Anyways, we thought that those of you that do have some morbid fascination with the immoral and curious activities of the daring young meat-bags known as physician heal thyself, (questioningly) deserved to get a bit of an update so here goes:

Eddie J.: Well, it seems as though love has found Andy Hardy at last, Eddie J. has himself a honey! Now the first thing you might ask yourself is, "is she blind, quadriplegic, a corpse?" Brace yourselves, I know that necrophilia sounds like the most logical answer being that the young Mr. Edweird is a ghoulish bastard on the best of days, but no. She is a normal, healthy, seemingly nice young woman. Do we assume she is sick in the head? Yes! Do we fear for her health and safety? Yes! Do we think that perhaps she is a succubus, sent to make Eddie pay for his crimes against humanity? Perhaps, only time will tell...On another note we think Eddie may have begun a solo career without consulting us, we don't begrudge him his success, it's the lying we find so hurtful...

Eric B.: I still question my existence, I am trying to keep "creating", still trying to fool my gal and the rest of the world that I am a trustworthy human that does not wish to spirit them away to my home planet and cook them in a 900 gallon dutch oven.

My diet of roast babies, grilled puppies and kittens and lovely fresh flowers dipped in blood and dredged in the ashes of my various enemies is going swimmingly! The delusions obviously continue and I'm very close to perfecting auto-exploratory brain surgery. I still wonder if when I get my head open I'll be able to see the voices in there...

Lam-Yam Ying: Oh my, I don't even know where to begin. Lam was not kidding when he said he has not been a very good boy. Lam has been keeping some very unsavory company, as usual, and people are suffering for his amusement, as usual.

Cambodia, Jonestown, Waco and Darfur didn't all happen on accident you know...

I truly hope that someone can bring some sunshine into Lams' life before it's too late for us all!

Lately I don't know what kind of mood I'm in or how I feel or anything. Now before you start thinking, "oh geez, he's having another existential crisis", I'm not really complaining - well, maybe a little bit. Things are generally pretty good right now - I guess I'm just getting a little weirded out by drowning in my own combination of ambition and lack thereof. There are so many things I want to do and when I do get that little bit of free time I always find some other foolish way to spend my time, or there is school or some project that I bring home from work. Anyway, I am starting to slowly put more of the pieces of my own demise into place - sort of like they say in one of my new favorite records (of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer - go buy it, it is phenomenal), "at least I author my own disaster".

Hi there! It's been a while, hasn't it. It's tough to find time to write, what with Lam's constant assassination attempts and all. So quite a lot is going on these days; sick family member, 2nd graduate program, new projects and, dare I say it, a social life - say it isn't so! Anyway, I will write again very soon but I wanted to drop a quick hello to let all 0 of you know that I am not dead, at least, not yet.

Took a little holiday in Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti this past week and visited with some of the new "distance learning" members of pht, Eddie J. of "As Yet To Be Named" and Steve Toth, formerly of the incredible "Zug Island Quartet" had a good time did some preliminary work on some of the new pht material. Visited with some old friends, tried to find my missing therapist went to some interesting parties and a very cool cabaret show called "Cowgirl Cabaret".

Lam showed up in town a couple of times and was his usual charming self but was called away by Kim Jong who was complaining of chest pains and a lack of American network television - a very strange man indeed. I was turned on to a couple bands I was currently unaware of that I am really liking, "Saturday Looks Good To Me" is certainly one of my favorite new finds in a while. Among the highlights of the trip was a strange, yet cool, party at the home of a cool friend of Eddie's named Sue. Michael Vick was burned in effigy and then very fittingly fed to a pack of wild dogs who appeared from nowhere out of the snow storm, Lam showed up at the party with one of the mistresses of Kim Jong where they proceeded to commandeer the hot tub where they initiated all kinds of debauchery not fit to print in this forum.

Lam is getting a bit scary again, he has been hanging out with some kind of organized sex-wrestling team competing in third world countries with topless women who have no idea they are a part of the competition. He threatened me with a broken bottle and a slice of Wonder Bread covered in mayo the other day, screaming at me about rusted bolts and a canister of Lemur urine. We really don't know what to do at this point. I think he is spending too much time with Kim Jong-Il, I mean just look at this for fucks sake...

OK, so…my last couple posts did not really echo my personal philosophy and or disposition. I can only apologize for my temporary oversight born of happiness. I have been watching things out of the corner of my eye and, so far, the world does not seem to have changes much. I thought when my personal little world got a little happier the world would somehow get brighter along with it but no.

The robots, goats and zombies are slinking about at alarmingly increased numbers and perpetuating their own unique brands of evil upon the globe. Dispatches have it that the robots have once again found my location and I may have to flee for safer confines. Of course, the roads are always rife with zombies and this can cause logistical problems but at least where they slow me down they also hamper the movements of the robots to some degree. One day I swear we will find a pesticide that will work on both the living dead and the automatons.

I am grateful to report that I have had only one run in with a goat in the last couple of weeks and that was a minor incident at the best buy – it amazes me that these surly little mammals can be so fond of human bureaucracy, what we need is to take their precious red tape and properly seal their asses and watch them expand like Nagasaki as they both figuratively and literally fill with shit. Have any of you out there been naughty lately? Do drop us a line, we are ever so keen to hear your dirty little sordid tales…By the way, we are still recruiting little people for our winter revival of “Army of Midgets on Ice” and are hoping to find some talented little Rasputin with cockroach wrangling skills. Can someone please tell Mussolini to quit playing soccer in the halls?

So I went to see my gal in a reading of a new play and then went out with her and the rest of the group afterwards. I already new Rob and Jason of Three Cat Media, they are decent, funny guys and were pretty fun company.

Met a director from St. Paul Minnesota and an actress from the middle of Wisconsin who were both nice and charming ladies and also Michelle (the actress) father whose name I forgot but he was an awfully nice, pleasant man and obviously very supportive of his daughter which is cool. Anyway, we sat in a bar at the corner of Western and Milwaukee, the name of which i have also forgot - must see a doctor about my early onset of Alzheimer's - anyway, lot's of interesting conversation most of which I have also forgotten except some excitement over Barbie (the Director) meeting a guy whose grandmother was a member of some famous Andrew's sisters before the Andrew's sisters singing group which sent Rob into an apparent frenzy. I love seeing people get excited about stuff, even if it seems mundane to me. Barbie invited Laura and I to stay with her in St. Paul if I ever make my pilgrimage to go see "A Prairie Home Companion", I hope she remembers this today...

Hi to all 0 of you!

Sorry to have delayed this post so long, things have been a little busy getting things set up here for school (again) and getting the new material going, learning a new recording platform etc. I was recently ordered to watch my gals favorite reality show with her as a replacement for a birthday gift for her mum - will God forgive me? I have been too busy to even think of things to bitch about lately. On second thought, running back and forth between buildings trying to do laundry and eat chinese delivery is fairly aggravating. Constant advertising for Jennifer Lopez trash recordings are up there as well, similar to Rosie O'Donnell being on South Park. Even though she dies, which is wonderful, it's just not right. I think perhaps that Rosie and Jennifer should do my laundry while I eat Chinese. The midgets have been warning me that the opposing factions have been strangely quiet lately, it could certainly mean trouble. Is it possible that robots, goats and zombies could conspire against the the empire of discomfort???

incredible shrinking weekend

So, it was a good weekend, albeit very short, and I am now ready for the next. I started the weekend waiting in line for a copy of OS 10.5 along with the rest of Chicago

the line snaked completely around the block but once 6 PM came everything moved very fast, kudos to the Michigan Avenue Apple Store for being so well prepared. Got my copy and got it home in time to go see Laura (my gal) sing at the Gentry. Show was good and there was a decent crowd, finally got to see her perform with Beckie Menzie - it was really terrific I enjoy seeing her sing with people who play so differently from one another. Anyhow, finally got to install Leopard on Saturday afternoon and got to finally play with it on Sunday. So far it's very cool and the new features are terrific. On an unrelated note, I can remember Halloween being: A. Organic B. Fun C. ON THE 31ST! I was walking in Laura's neighborhood Sunday morning and all the little yuppie couples had there progeny out parading around collecting candy in the middle of the morning. Helmets for bike riding, Sunday morning trick-or-treating, what's next, umbilical chords until age 13? Anyhow.....

A kid can't ride a bike without a helmet, an adult can't smoke a cigarette where they choose but we can all go out and fire automatic weapons for leisure sake - hhmmm.

"back from the dead"

I am at a loss for words a great deal lately. Life has taken so many odd turns in the last few years and I got so used to being dead or dying that being alive has come as a bit of a shock. I was told today by one of the four horsemen (Lawrence, Ian, Eddie, Jeremy - they know who they are) that I needed to break up with my new gal as she is making me too good natured. He was, of course, joking as my curmudgeon side is even insufferable to me. However, I wish to take this moment and assure you all - I will not lose my vitriol or my incendiary tongue as these are things I could not get rid of if I tried. I am constantly amused, for example, at the absolute lack of any credible choice for a leader for our fair nation. The only candidate that does not make me break into a cold sweat has no chance of winning so it's hardly worth commenting. Now that things are starting to go well here in my little cave I'd like to see them stay that way for a while and i do not see the GOP helping me out on that count. Anyway, I'll be speaking with you a bit more frequently in the days to come as my renewed tenure with the living has also re-awoken my creative, talky side as well. Y'all come back now, ya here?

Summer leaves in an autumn sky

Yes, it's true. Most of the leaves in my neighborhood are still very green and still very attached to the trees. I have to tell you dear readers, I am feeling much less of a curmudgeon these days and it's rather disconcerting. Both my professional life and my personal life seem to be working rather well these days and not even that vacuous twit in the whitehouse can get me riled, of course, I have been purposely avoiding any news story regarding his shenanigans, so.................

Anyhow, how are all of you? I just noticed for the first time that there is a counter on my blog and I have had some readers which is kind of nice. Resurection!

Hi all 0 of you!

It's been a long time! I forgot that I had one of these handy dandy things! A lot has happened since we last did not speak: I got divorced...again, I moved back to the city, I switched jobs a couple times and started dating a wonderful new woman. I have a new website and a couple myspace pages and I will probably mirror this blog on at least one of them. Hopefully I wil start having some kind of audience one of these days. I guess I'll have to start posting something more interesting to warrant a readership! Anyway, I look forward to yelling into the void that is the internet and hearing nothing but the echo of my own voice to keep me company. For those of you interested in the Chicagoland area some of my new friends are doing a series of shows at the Gorrilla Tango Theatre on Milwaukee Avenue on Thursday nights. The shows are Three Cat Thursday and they feature a different sort of act each week. Cover is only $10.00 and beer and wine are cheap. Tomorow is "Theme Night" and next Thursday is featured artist week and is starring the cabaret stylings of Laura Freeman (that wonderful new woman I mentioned before)

Back from the desert I call my life!

Hi!

It's so nice to see my audience has gone from 0 to 0! When last you and I spoke W. had not yet been re-elected and I was still trapped in the temp job from hell - (word to the wise kiddies, "stay in school because $100,000 dollars in educational debt gets you really far in life - like $100,000 in debt and miserable!") Anyhow, back to work "kind-of" and back on the job hunt. Not that I want a job mind you, but i am told it's hard to pay your bills in bottle caps and dust bunnies. Do people really reed blogs? I would like to do something interesting with this one but I am not so sure anyone will see it - oh, well - I guess that will make me really super cool indie if nobody ever reads it right? Like the song that is so freakin cool and hip you can only hear it if you are a dog? Are you paying attention?! Perhaps I should connect some audio or pics to this but what to post....hhhmmm?

I though it would post under what I had already typed - moron, who told you to think? Am I trying to break something? What part of shut-up do I not understand?

Break out the prayer beads......

Is it just me or is it getting wierd in here. After all we have seen people still think W. is a good guy. People are going to vote for him - he may even win. I wonder if France or Germany were filled with darker skinned, Muslim people if W. would want to kill them all to? Maybe he already does, maybe he has some hush - hush secret plan to attack them after the next election as well. You know, becasue they did not want to kill Iraqi's that means by default that they to were "trying to kill his dad". Am I the only person who thinks that maybe 911 was orchestrated by the Bush clan in order to somehow create a climate that would allow for the attacking if Iraq? After all, if you ask W. and the people like him, all Muslims regardless of nation, personality, temperament, etc. are the same so if one is a terrorist they must all be. Maybe it's not that at all, maybe he really is not a racist good 'ol boy after all maybe it really is just the oil and making sure that his family has more money than they could possibly ever spend. When it's no longer oil maybe it will be something that you or I will be in the way of. Hhhmmm, better make my peace with God, I see a confederate flag coming my way over the horizon......

Back from a season, or rather, a weekend in hell......

Good morning friends,

I am back in the bad place after a weekend in what may possibly have been a worse place. I travelled into the Wisconsin Dells with my wife, my cousin, his wife and there two sons. At first I was hopeful as the location we stayed at was quite wooded and smelled of fire which I like, sadly this is where the pleasure ends. We stayed in a smal trailer camper which was small and had even smaller beds made up of folding furniture which were horribly uncomfortable. The bathing site was made up of a couple of coin-op showers in the public restroom in the campground which isn't so bad I guess except for the fact that the restrooms themselves were covered in a couple inches of dirty water - and I don't even want to guess at what sort of dirty we're talking about. We drove all evening to get there and I am not fond of being a passenger in a car for more than a couple hours at a time and then upon reaching said destination we pretty much went right to bed in a very cold - no fire, no furnace and worst of all, no drinks evening. Next day we went to the actual Dells - the tourist trap area. I enjoyed myself in the morning simply becasue it was a very bright and crisp morning but the actual area of the Dells is much the same as the Canadian side of Niagra Falls, lots of touristy stuff that is profanely expensive for what it is - half rate ammusements. I did get to enjoy some very expensive salt-water taffy which is one of my biggest guilty pleasures. By the way, have any of you noticed that you can find a taffy apple just about anywhere but candy apples are simply no longer to be found? Does this mean we will no longer be seeing candy-apple red cars? Anyways, we eventually returned to the campsite and relaxed a bit and my wife made an insanely good batch of beef stew in a dutch oven sort of a thing right in the fire, however, the evening was made somewhat ugly by the fact that my cousin (who really is a fine and decent fellow) seemed to have it in for the youngest of his sons who he proceeded to deride and humiliate through the evening. Now as a self proclaimed curmudgeon, I rarely have a problem with people dishing out a little abuse, especially when well timed and comedic, however, (and don't start getting the idea that I have a heart or anything) killing the spirit of a young child is just downright criminal, it's like plucking the wings off a bird ever so slowly. Anyway, I suppose I could really get into the finer details of what made the trip hellish but I'll leave that to your imagination, suffice it to say that although I don't want to rail too much on it because the trip was a kind offer and I did have some fun, I do think that I will need to follow up on the actual Dells and other places of it's ilk at a later date.

Well, I have to admit, I really like the idea of complaining to a physical audience inbetween my time spent with you. Would you believe that there are still people that expect you to earn the money they give you week to week? I know, wierd isn't it? I really enjoy the ones that give you that look - you know - "the look", as if somehow their distaste for my inactivity is going to send me spiraling into guilt ridden fits of remorse and bring me begging for the redemption only they could possibly offer. "How will you repair my broken life oh great one?" "How will you reinstill the fear I have so carelessly left upon your alter?" I am so certain that I am in need of punishment, repeat doses of boy bands and "pop" tarts, maybe a long confessional with the flavor of the month teen whore. Yes a good stern "talking to" from that chalice of wisdom ____________ (insert tragicly turned out teen prostitute of the month here). This rambling makes absolutley no sense, what did you say your name was again? Theres a twenty on the dresser, maybe you can fix me a sandwich on your way out..............

So?

Why are you here? Personally, I am stuck where I really don't want to be, not doing what I am supposed to be doing and wishing I were anywhere else. for this reason I am here now with all of you which of course could be "legion, for you are many" or nobody at all. I'm not all that sure how many people read these things. I'm not sure what you can expect to find here just yet as I really am a moody bastard with a severely wandering mind. Anyways come back later if you so choose and maybe I''ll entertain you, or maybe I'll just offend you with my attitude and poor taste.
